Bit's Tales è un blog di storie di ingegneria informatica, nato a settembre 2025. Racconta come sono nate le tecnologie che usiamo ogni giorno, i kernel, i linguaggi, i formati e i disastri, con tutti i dettagli tecnici e senza prendersi troppo sul serio.
La regola della casa: non è un bug, è una storia. Dietro ogni syscall strana, ogni standard incomprensibile e ogni tecnologia sparita c'è qualcuno che ha preso una decisione che, al momento, sembrava ottima.
Gli articoli escono in italiano e in inglese, e si esplorano per tag. Niente iscrizioni, niente account, niente newsletter: si entra, si legge e si esce. Come un buon processo che libera la memoria prima di terminare.
Il sito gira su Ghost, in quattro container Docker, su un kernel monolitico "obsoleto dal 1992".
Bit's Tales is a blog of computer engineering stories, started in September 2025. It tells how the technologies we use every day came to be (kernels, languages, formats and disasters) with all the technical detail and without taking itself too seriously.
House rule: it's not a bug, it's a tale. Behind every weird syscall, every baffling standard and every vanished technology there is someone who made a decision that seemed great at the time.
Posts are published in English and Italian, and you can browse them by tag. No sign-ups, no accounts, no newsletter: you come in, you read, you leave. Like a well-behaved process that frees its memory before exiting.
The site runs on Ghost, in four Docker containers, on a monolithic kernel that has been "obsolete since 1992".
